I always try to think up new ways of creating special and magical moments for my 6 year old daughter. Moments that, I hope, she will remember for the rest of her life. Here are a few photos from one of those moments. This morning!!! Valentine’s Day morning. It took 400 hearts, 2 days, and no sleep, but I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat (pun intended) just to see the look on her face one more time!!! Oh, and in case you are wondering … she loved it. Gasped at the sight of it.

so cute. definitely gona try somethin like this next year.
Thank you! It was so much fun … but a lot of work. I didn’t realize it would take me about 12 hours to do it.
But worth it for sure! She was surprised and very happy.
I love the idea!
I always love to do things for my girls.
Thank you. Little girls are the absolute best. Can’t do this for a boy. Unless you’re going to hand him a toy gun afterwards that shoots out balls or arrows or something so that he can use the hearts as target practice. LOL
Love this! I am doing a ‘heart attack’ on my kids’ doors this year, but I am doing this next year! And I beg to differ about boys. My boy is very much ALL BOY. He is 8 but he still loves things like this. He likes to feel appreciated and loved just like my daughter. I guess that means he’s a good kid!
Oh yay! Do it! It was fun. And yes, I suppose you can do it for a boy. I don’t have any boys so I’m quite clueless as to what they would like, to be honest. Would love to see it. Please share when you do it.
I just found this on pinterest. Very cool. How did you hang them. I’d love to do this this year for my kids and would appreciate any pointers to make it easy
Initially I hung them with glue dots, because I wanted it to look as if they were coming through the ceiling BUT due to some of the weight (I used card stock instead of construction paper) some of them started falling down so I decided to reinforce them with scotch tape. That helped them hold up for several days. My daughter wanted to keep them up all month but after two weeks we took them down. Many had fallen and we were constantly getting tangled, lol. If you do it please share pictures. I’d love to see.
Are there directions on how to make this anywhere? I want t make it for my husband.
I printed a plain sheet of paper with hearts on it in various sizes and used that as a stencil to cut out about 500 hearts out of cardstock. You can use construction paper if you prefer. I also printed out various messages in hearts as well and placed them over bigger hearts. Once all the hearts were cut and messages glued on, the hearts were now ready to be attached to the string. I used yarn but you can also use balloon ribbons. I cut about 50 strings of yarn also in various length between 6-8 feet and started adhering the hearts to each string. I adhered anywhere from 4-6 hearts on each. I used glue dots for everything. I LOVE glue dots. But you can tape the hearts to the yarn and then tape the yarn to the ceiling. Hope that helps.
